Telconi Terminal Showcase
Cisco® routers, switches and PIX Firewalls are usually configured using a command line interface (CLI) and require general knowledge of networking technologies, protocols and Cisco IOS® or PIX. Some existing network management applications may cover fault-, software- and other management tasks pretty well. For most other tasks, however, you'll have to step down to the command line interface.
Let's consider a simple task. We're deleting a secondary IP address of an Ethernet interface first using the command line and then using Telconi Terminal:
Using the CLI to remove a secondary IP address
First we look at the steps involved using the traditional CLI interface.
router(config-if)# no ip address 10.1.2.3 255.255.255.0 secondary
>> continue
Using the Telconi Terminal to remove a secondary IP address
In the second part, we use Telconi Terminal for the same task.
